Hannah Thoreson is a software developer, artist, and explorer that lives in Los Angeles, California. She grew up on a working farm in rural North Dakota, where she gained an appreciation for the outdoors. As a child she was obsessed with dinosaurs like other 90’s kids and spent a lot of time playing piano and messing around on the computer.

In high school she won numerous awards in speech and debate. After becoming a National Merit Scholar, she earned a scholarship to attend Arizona State University in Tempe, initially majoring in Computer Systems Engineering but later pivoting to Physics. She was active in a lot of different clubs and activities on campus, most notably AIAA, and a student rocket club.

Later she relocated to the Washington, D.C. area to work at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). This was an opportunity to use well-honed communications skills sharing information about the rapidly-changing aerospace industry on the largest social media platforms.

During the covid-19 pandemic, she pivoted again to a career developing software, starting off at a tiny yet well-known systems integrator. That journey has taken her through supporting everything from well known consumer facing brands to the most cutting edge R&D hardware defense companies want to use in experiments. Working in tech has also honed her discipline, grit, and ability to work well with others.

In 2024 Hannah relocated to Los Angeles, California to be closer to the tech industry and more outdoor activities. She is also a prolific creative mind, with the highlights posted on the Artwork page or on Soundcloud.
